The main research focus in the Wang laboratory is in glycoscience with emphasis on synthesis and analytical characterization of biologically important carbohydrates, oligosaccharides, glycopeptides, glycolipids and glycoproteins. We have a long term interests in biosynthetic pathway and enzymology of complex polysaccharides. Our research programs include polysaccharide biosynthesis and analysis, glycoprotein analysis and glycoproteomics, microbial glycobiology and sugar-based vaccines, drugs and immunotherapy. We also have research programs in medicinal chemistry, on reactive nitrogen and oxygen species and green chemistry
